Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif ban lifted

Pakistan fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif have had their bans for doping lifted today. The appeal committee voted 2-1 in favour of lifting the ban
It means they can play in ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.
Shoaib widely recognized as one of the fastest bowlers in the world, earning him the name Rawalpindi Express. He made a world record by clocking 100mph twice.
Mohammad Asif a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.
A tribunal banned 31-year-old Shoaib for two years and Asif, 23, for one year on 1 November for testing positive for the banned steroid nandrolone.

The two players were recalled from the Champions Trophy in India in October after they tested positive in out-of-competition tests conducted by the PCB. However, the duo have not been included in Pakistan’s squad for the second ODI against the West Indies, despite being cleared of doping offences.
Shoaib Akhtar said:
I have already missed a lot of cricket through injury and now want to play as soon as possible. The ban was like a life sentence for me and unbearable. I was innocent. I am overjoyed by what happened today. It is hard to describe how relieved I really am!

Fakhruddin Ibrahim Appeal judge said:
It is clearly, plainly evident that Shoaib nor Asif were ever warned or cautioned against taking supplements
